Customer Service: What is that? When is buying American in America not buying American? When you buy Motorola

I have just spent most of the day trying to my son's Motorola cell phone fixed. He bought a Motorokr E6 from a dealer in Miami for almost $500. After about 6 months the screen stops working. Only to learn that this particular model is not serviceable in the US. Now we are not speaking about warranty, this phone cannot be repaired in the US period, even if we wanted to pay!!!!

The dealer sends you to Motorola, Motorola cannot help you. Our only recourse is to purchase a new phone from Motorola at a "special price" (By the way, not the E6) Or send the MotorokrE6 to Motorola in Hong Kong at our expense.

The question is: When you purchase a US brand from a store in the US should you not expect some sort of corporate guarantee from that brand?

Buyer beware!!!!! in this new global marketplace, buying American in America does not mean anything! Especially when the product gets broken.

Shame on you Motorola!!!!
